Blurring the Boundaries Between Art and Life

Hall Arts Hotel located in downtown Dallas, Texas in the Arts District, is a 25 story building under construction that will have a mixed use with a luxury full-service boutique hotel, restaurants and condominiums. Adjacent to the half-acre HALL Texas Sculpture Walk, the property will feature unique art throughout.

The goal of this project was to create a website with a focus on highlighting the sophistication of the hotel, that will incorporate the ‘art-fullness’ of the area with great design and imagery.

Project Overview

The audience will be a mix of corporate transient, leisure transient, small group and social events. As an independent property the website needs to differentiate the hotel from all others, show the character and personality, generate awareness and engagement as well as produce a high volume of traffic and drive revenue. In many cases it will be the only opportunity to convince a traveler to book.

Sitemap

I created a sitemap for organizing and labeling the content of all the services, room types, meeting venuse and restaurants offered by the hotel for different audiences (leisure,travellers, meetings and events) in a unique website that conveys the exclusive experience and the excellent services offered my the hotel and the surrounding area.

Wireframes

Once our sitemap and site structure was approved the next step was to map it out visually using wireframes to to visually represent the functionality of the website on both desktop and mobile screens where certain calls to action will be placed and how the main navigation will appear. With this we can work out things like hierarchy and layout with the client before starting any actual design.

Cool & Collected

International art that is custom curated for the hotel from world renowned artists throughout the hotel and common area spaces.

Hall Arts wanted a dynamic gallery to showcase all art and artist's names. In addition, they have video content that showcases a few pieces of the art from the time the artist starts the work to when they install it (time-lapse style) and wanted to be able to showcase these on the site.
